Two Sisters Honored with 2022 Cheverus Award Medals

We are pleased to share that Sisters Kathleen Therese Cassidy, SNDdeN and Ann Marie McAndrews, SNDdeN were awarded with the 2022 Cheverus Medal from the Archdiocese of Boston.  These medals are conferred upon selected recipients from throughout the Archdiocese annually at the Cathedral on or around the solemnity of Christ the King.

The medal recipients are chosen for their service to the Church and God’s people. The oval-shaped silver medal bears the image of Bishop Jean-Louis Anne Magdelain Lefebvre de Cheverus. On the reverse side is Bishop Cheverus’ coat of arms and the episcopal motto “diligamus nos invicem” (let us love one another). Bishop Cheverus was the founding Bishop of Boston and led the archdiocese from 1808 until his return to France in 1824.  He died in 1836 as the Archbishop of Bordeaux.

Sisters Kathleen and Ann Marie were presented with the medals during a daytime prayer service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Boston on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
