Sister Patty Chappell Serves as Panelist

On November 29, 2022, The Center for Cultural Engagement of the Catholic University of America showed the screening of the documentary: "A Place at the Table: African Americans on the Path to Sainthood". This documentary highlights the six African American currently on the path to canonization. To complement the stories presented in the film, Sister Patty Chappell, SNDdeN, was asked to be a part of a panel to discuss and expand upon the themes in the film. Sister Patty's perspective helped to ground the discussion in the current challenges facing the Church and society.

Other panelists included: Fr. Patrick Smith, Pastor of St. Augustine Church, Washington, DC, Wendy Williams, Executive Director of the Office of Cultural Diversity, Archdiocese of Washington, DC, Sandra Coles- Bell, and executive Director of the National Black Sisters' Conference, Washington, DC.

Sister Patty and her fellow panelists presented to a mix of students, staff, religious women, and clergy along with Catholic persons throughout the Archdiocese of Washington, DC.
