I come from a loving, caring, hard-working Irish family and was blessed to have the Sisters of Notre Dame as my educators and mentors from grades 1 through 12. Their care, dedication and availability were very influential in my entering the order in August 1959 in Waltham, MA.
What I remember most about my first mission was being overwhelmed. So much to do, so little time to do it. Yet, thanks to community, everything managed to run.
I absolutely loved teaching, especially fourth graders. They were constantly changing, growing and becoming in all phases of life. Every day was a challenge and a real joy.
How can I express gratitude for the hundred fold in so many areas of my life? The journey of these 60 years has been a challenge endowed with many blessings. All the time, talent and treasures of others has enriched, encouraged and brought me to this “WOW” moment.
