On July 12, our community united nationwide as Sisters, Associates and staff marked a momentous occasion: the 10th anniversary of our Province's formation and the birthday of our beloved foundress, St. Julie Billiart! Our shared mission was honored with vibrant celebrations in Belmont, California; Baltimore, Maryland; Windsor, Connecticut; and across Massachusetts in Boston, Wenham and Worcester.
This event also marked the transition of our leadership teams. The new team of five Sisters was selected through a discernment process in April 2024, to fulfill the service of our Province governance. Join us in welcoming Sisters Maria Delaney, Kathryn Keenan, Patricia O’Brien, Roberta Rzeznik and Ginny Scally, SNDdeN, who will serve for a five-year term.
Attendees heard from various speakers throughout the event, including a message from the two East-West members of the Congregational Leadership Team, Sisters Mary Johnson and Lorraine Connell, SNDdeN. Speakers from the different on-site locations shared reflections on the past 10 years as a Province, and the changes and friendships that have resulted from becoming a combined East-West unit.
Sisters, Associates and staff had the opportunity to express their hopes for the East-West Province's future before thanking the outgoing leadership team for their service and blessing the new team as they transition into their roles.
