Women and men who are called to be Associates of Notre Dame de Namur take different paths in their spiritual journeys.

For Hanna Price, a teacher at St. John Notre Dame in Folsom, California, her discernment journey began after last fall’s Legacy Retreat at the Sisters’ House of Prayer in Carmel. She says the experience deeply affected her: “I felt Saint Julie touch my heart in a way that is honestly hard to put into words. There was such a deep sense of peace, love and belonging that stayed with me long after the retreat ended.”

On June 6, at the Notre Dame Province Center Chapel in Belmont, California, Price and five other women made a formal commitment to the charism and mission of St. Julie as Associates of Notre Dame de Namur. Joining Price were Andrea Metner, Kathleen Nelson, Teri Olson, JoAnn Shaw and Marilyn Vandenbroeck.

The day was filled with love and support as the women were surrounded by the Sisters and staff at our Belmont Province Center. After the commitment ceremony, the group enjoyed a joyful luncheon.

Reflecting on her decision, Price said, “Being welcomed into this community has shown me the beauty and strength that comes when women come together with a shared desire to make God’s goodness known in the world. Whether through small everyday moments or larger acts of service, I’ve come to see how powerful it is to simply love and serve others with an open and generous heart.”

We congratulate all our new Associates and thank them for their commitment to advancing the SNDdeN mission. How good is the good God!
