Carrying the Mission Forward—Together: Notre Dame Educators Symposia
July 8, 2026
There is something unmistakably alive about a room full of Notre Dame educators focused on mission.
Twice a year, teachers, administrators and mission leaders from across the SNDdeN U.S. East-West Province gather—once on each coast— for the Notre Dame Educators Symposia.

A workshop at NDNU by Crystal Catalan of The Buckley School explored topics core to Hallmark 5: embracing the gift of diversity.
Now in their third year, these gatherings are more than professional development. They are joyful celebrations of a shared calling.
In January, the West Coast symposium at Notre Dame de Namur University featured a dynamic workshop by Crystal Catalan of The Buckley School, exploring civil discourse, human dignity and inclusion—core to Hallmark 5: embracing the gift of diversity.
March brought the East Coast gathering to Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts, where Sister Bárbara Gutiérrez, SNDdeN, set hearts alight with stories from the Congregation’s earliest days, calling every educator to see themselves as “living chapters in the history of SNDdeN education.” Interactive workshops and spirited roundtables followed, sparking ideas that will ripple far beyond any single school.
These symposia make one thing gloriously clear: Notre Dame education is a living, breathing mission—carried forward with joy, purpose and love.
“The work of the past did not end. It belongs to you now.”
—Sister Bárbara Gutiérrez, SNDdeN
