In January of 2025, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur U.S. East-West Leadership Team (EWLT) attended a meeting of Congregational Leaders from around the world in Nairobi, Kenya. We gathered from all over the world where we live and are in ministry, to grow as a community of leaders and to foster relationships across languages and borders. During that meeting, we were encouraged to identify several provinces with whom we might have ongoing conversations.
One of the ongoing conversations the EWLT is committed to is with our Sisters in Perú. For a year, we have met via Zoom, for prayer and reflection, so that we might know each other better. Additionally, we have begun conversations about how we can support one another in new ways across the miles, in our efforts to live and make known our mission: that God is Good!
In January of 2026, our Sister Juana Jacqueline traveled from Perú for a month-long visit to the United States East-West Province. Sister Juana Jaqueline lived in community with our Sisters as she visited the various regions of our province: the northeast (Massachusetts and Connecticut), California and the mid-Atlantic. At each location, Sister Juana Jacqueline shared in community life with our Sisters, visited their various ministries, and gained further insight into the lives of our Sisters in the U.S. East-West Province. We are so glad that this visit was possible, and we look forward to ongoing connections with our Sisters in Perú!
