Standing for Immigrant Justice
June 22, 2026

Sister Denise Curry, SNDdeN joined others in a procession to celebrate Corpus Christi and honor the immigrant struggle at the Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession for Immigrants.
The Feast of Corpus Christi (literally “Body of Christ”) is a chance to profess and adore Jesus, who is truly present in the Eucharist. On June 7, 2026, in Washington, D.C., Sister Denise Curry, SNDdeN joined others in a procession to celebrate Corpus Christi and honor the immigrant struggle at the Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession for Immigrants.
She beautifully spoke about the importance of unity around the issue of immigration justice:
“Let us break up the cycle of hate and retaliation. We can find a way to live well together. In fact, let’s skip the idea of having enemies at all. Don’t we want everyone to breathe clean air? Shouldn’t everyone have family and friends they love, be treated with respect and receive a living wage? Don’t we want all children to go to good schools and dream their dreams and receive good medical care?
“So, on this feast of Corpus Christi, let’s get to work on making sure the entire Body of Christ has all this in abundance.”
Join us in praying for Sister Denise and all Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur who so passionately work toward justice and peace. May our good God bless their efforts and grant strength, protection and comfort to migrants and refugees around the world.
