Barbara “Barbara St. George” Collins
Sister Barbara Collins, SNDdeN was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, to parents Frank and Dorothy (Eagan) Collins and has two siblings.
She entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1960, taking the name Barbara St. George, took her first vows in 1963 and final vows in 1968.
Sister Barbara earned degrees from Emmanuel College in history and education, a master’s degree in religious education/pastoral ministry from Fairfield University, and has a certificate in pastoral studies from Andover Newton Theological Institute.
She taught at Ascension in Worcester, St. Mary in Cambridge, St. Monica in Methuen, St. Michael in Salem, New Hampshire, and St. Michael in Exeter, New Hampshire; and served in Parish ministry at St. Teresa in Henniker and in Exeter, New Hampshire. She performed Parish work at St. Teresa in Henniker and was a pastoral associate at Our Lady of the Angels and Notre Dame Academy, Worcester.
