Sister Carol Cahill, SNDdeN was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the daughter of Edward and Louise (Cotter) Cahill. She entered the SNDdeNs in 1954, took her first vows in 1957 and final vows in 1962. Her religious name was Sister Edward Louise.

She taught at St. Teresa in Providence, St. Monica in Methuen, and St. Augustine and St. Mary in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She was the principal at Holy Rosary in Lawrence, St. Gregory in Dorchester and Immaculate Conception School in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was a volunteer at Mother St. Joseph House in Wakefield, Massachusetts.
