Sister Catherine Louise Beauregard, SNDdeN was born Gloria Rita Beauregard in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of William and Catherine (McKenzie) Beauregard. Drawn to religious life at a young age, she entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1950 and received the religious name Sister Catherine Louise. She professed first vows in 1953 and made her perpetual profession in 1958.

During her years of active ministry, Sister Catherine served primarily in education and in community support work. She taught and also worked in the laundry at community ministries in Worcester, Boston and Andover — ministries typical of the Sisters’ hands-on service to local parishes and schools. Across those assignments she was known for steady, dependable care for students and for the day-to-day needs of the communities she served.

Today, Sister Catherine is a member of the Ipswich community of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur where she participates in province activities and is dedicated to the ministry of prayer. Her life reflects the quiet, faithful ministry of many religious women of her generation: steadfast service in Catholic education and community life, a lifelong commitment to the charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and continued faith in God’s goodness.
