Sister Dorothy Strelchun, SNDdeN was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Francis and Anna (Samolis) Strelchun. She entered the SNDdeNs in 1958 and took her first vows in 1961. Her religious name was Sister John Patricia.
She taught in Connecticut schools, at St. Thomas Aquinas in New Britain, St. Mary in Newington and St. Justin in Hartford.
Sister Dorothy worked in the Spanish Apostolate for the Diocese of Hartford, at the Spanish-speaking Center in New Britain, and as associate director of Catholic Charities in Bloomfield.
