Sr jeannette 2026 award

Sister Jeannette received a Plaque of Honor from the Association of Former Students of Sainte Enfance School in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti.

Sister Jeannette Pierre-Louis, SNDdeN is a native of Haiti. For over 10 years, she served as the executive director of the Notre Dame Family Education Center and its annex, the Basic Education Center in Les Cayes, Haiti.

“We saw a need to teach reading, writing, math and self-development skills to women and families as well as to create ways for the adults to earn an income to support their families. We developed a plan that became the foundation for the Notre Dame Family Education Center,” Sister Jeannette said.

Both centers teach reading, writing, math and self-development skills, which they use to set up micro-businesses that help families earn income. These businesses also help create a path forward so that these ministries can one day be self-supporting.

Sister Jeannette now lives in Ipswich, Massachusetts. In 2026, the Association of Former Students of Sainte Enfance School in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, honored Sister Jeannette with its Plaque of Honor in recognition of her outstanding leadership, exemplary patriotism, and exceptional dedication to the community. The award was presented during the association’s 40th Anniversary celebration in Orlando, Florida.
