Sister Alice Clare Tremblay

Sister Alice was named Patricia at birth by her parents, Leo and Alice (Callaghan). She was born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts and of all her siblings was closest to her sister Anne. Patricia joined the Congregation in 1947 and took the name Sister Alice Clare.

Sister Alice has a lively personality and is full of fun. She was a classroom teacher throughout her years in ministry. For almost all those years she taught first grade. As a teacher, she was very artistic and creative. Sister Alice was one of the two Sisters who started St. John the Evangelist School in Beverly, Massachusetts in 1955.

After retiring from formal ministry, Sister Alice helped other Sisters living in the community at Ipswich, Mass. by giving them rides to their appointments. Sister Alice now lives in long-term care in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she enjoys spending time with other Sisters.
