Remembering Sister Alice Clare Tremblay, SNDdeN (1930 – 2024)

Sister Alice Clare Tremblay, SNDdeN was named Patricia at birth by her parents, Leo and Alice (Callaghan). She was born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts, and, of all her siblings, was closest to her sister Anne. Patricia joined the Congregation in 1947, taking the name Sister Alice Clare.

Sister Alice Clare was known for her lively personality and was full of fun. She served as a classroom teacher throughout her years in ministry. For almost all those years, she taught first grade. As a teacher, she was very artistic and creative. She was one of the two Sisters who started St. John the Evangelist School in Beverly, Massachusetts, in 1955.

After retiring from formal ministry, Sister Alice Clare helped other Sisters living in the community in Ipswich, Massachusetts, by giving them rides to their appointments. She then lived in long-term care in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she enjoyed spending time with her Sisters in religion.

Sister Alice Clare went home to her good God on September 9, 2024.
