Remembering Sister Kathleen Murphy, SNDdeN (1939-2024)

Sister Kathleen Murphy was born Kathleen Ann Murphy in Milton, Massachusetts, on September 5, 1939, the daughter of the late Gerard and Agnes Murphy.

She entered the Sisters of Notre Dame on August 28, 1958. She professed her first vows on January 26, 1961, and final vows on July 30, 1966. Sister Kathleen graduated from Emmanuel College. She shared her love of teaching young children in various ministries, including Waltham, Woburn, Lynn, Boston, Ipswich, Massachusetts, and Huntsville, Alabama. She also taught at Notre Dame Education Center in Lawrence and volunteered at the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsborough. Sister Kathleen loved spending time with family and friends, crocheting, crafting and at the beach.

She went home to her good God on June 7, 2024, at the age of 84, after 65 years as a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur.
