May Jubilees Honor Lives Dedicated to Joyful Service

It was a beautiful spring day when more than 150 people gathered to celebrate eight Jubilarians at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. One man, a former student of Sister Christine McGuirk, SNDdeN, traveled from Canada for the occasion!
Notably, 55 Sisters attended the 2026 Jubilee at the Notre Dame Long-Term Care Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Family members and friends joined Sisters who arrived from Windsor, Connecticut, and Ipswich on Saturday, May 16, 2026, to honor Jubilarians marking 70 to 80 years of religious life.
Sister Marie St. Barbara Connolly, SNDdeN, an 80-year Jubilarian, served as a lector, while celebrant Rev. Jonathan Slavinskas reflected on how the Sisters’ mission to proclaim the goodness of God inspires his own parish ministry. Following the readings, hymns and homily, all 55 Sisters in attendance renewed their vows in a heartfelt testimony to their lifelong commitment. Sister Pat O’Brien, SNDdeN provided closing remarks.
After Mass in the care center’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, guests gathered in the lush courtyard for a delicious buffet lunch and lively fellowship. Surrounded by loved ones, each Jubilarian wore a smile as wide as the world as her community celebrated decades of remarkable witness and dedication.

Future Celebrations
Emmanuel College and our Province Center in Belmont will host additional Jubilee celebrations later this year.
Overall, in 2026, 27 Sisters marked milestone years of vowed religious life, totaling 1,940 years.
