Statement on the Crisis in Venezuela

The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur U.S. East-West Province stand in solidarity with the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) and their statement in response to the crisis in Venezuela.

Rooted in our commitment to human dignity, justice and peace, we join the call to reject violence and to uphold dialogue, democratic processes, and respect for the will of the Venezuelan people. We remain especially mindful of the suffering of the most vulnerable and affirm that lasting peace is built through compassion, accountability and nonviolent solutions.

We invite people of faith to carry the people of Venezuela in their hearts and prayers, and to pray that those entrusted with leadership may be guided by wisdom, compassion and deep respect for human life, always seeking the common good.
