Statement on the Need for Peace and Justice in Minneapolis

(January 25, 2026) In solidarity with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ statement calling for calm, restraint and respect for human life, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, U.S. East–West Province, join in prayer with all who long for peace and justice.

Faithful to our call to make known God’s goodness with and among those who are most vulnerable, we echo the words of Pope Leo XIV and Archbishop Paul S. Coakley: “Peace is built on respect for people.”

Mindful of the dignity of every person, we invite all people of faith and goodwill to choose dialogue over division and compassion over fear, embracing a Gospel response to the challenges of our time.
